S Hareesh

S. Hareesh is an acclaimed Malayalam novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter. His prominent works include the novels Meesa, August 17 and Pattunoolppuzhu, alongside the short story collection Aadam, Appan, Rasavidyayude Charithram. He is also celebrated for writing screenplays for acclaimed films like Aeden, Jallikattu, Churuli, and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam.

His literary excellence has earned him prestigious accolades, including the JCB Prize for Literature (2020) for Moustache, the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for his short story Aadam (2016) and his novel Meesa (2019), the Vayalar Award (2022), the Padmarajan Puraskaram, and the Basheer Puraskaram, alongside the Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay (Aeden).
