Punalur Somarajan

Founder and Managing Trustee of Gandhibhavan International Trust. He serves as a member of the Orphanage Control Board under the Department of Social Justice, the Kollam District Convener of the Central Government's National Trust for the welfare of persons with disabilities, and the Ambassador for Punalur Municipality.

Currently, the Gandhibhavan headquarters in Pathanapuram accommodates around 1,500 residents of all age groups. Across 24 branches throughout Kerala, there are over 1,000 additional residents.

He holds records and recognitions for being the individual and running the institution receiving the highest number of awards in India, including the Kerala Sree (2023), the highest civilian honor from the Government of Kerala, the Vayo Shreshtha Samman (2019) from the President of India, and numerous Kerala State Government awards.
