Nilanjana Bhowmick

Nilanjana Bhowmick is the author of Why the World Needs Angry Women, Lies Our Mothers Told Us and How Not to Be a Superwoman. Through her writing, she explores the everyday realities of women’s lives, questioning the expectations, silences and inequalities that shape their choices. Her books have received wide critical and popular acclaim, with Lies Our Mothers Told Us winning the 2023 South Asia Laadli Media & Advertising Award for Gender Sensitivity and earning several other award nominations.

A multi-award-winning journalist and former TIME magazine correspondent, she has now turned her attention to building empathetic technology. She is the co-founder of Immli Women and Immli Connect, two platforms that seek to create opportunities and foster meaningful human connections.
