Neetha K Gopal

Neetha K Gopal did her BSc Physics from Alphonsa College, Pala. From there she went on to do her MSc in Meteorology from Cochin University of Science and Technology in the year 1991. On completion, she joined for further studies in the same field and obtained her MTech in 1997. She joined India Meteorological Department (IMD) as a trainee Meteorologist in the year 1999 and worked in the operational weather forecasting services of IMD on completion of the one year training. Her core area is Weather Forecasting. Specialisation is in Public Weather Service, Aviation Meteorological Service, Cyclone warning, and Marine Meteorological services Capacity Building. She has represented IMD/ India in various national and international fora. She has also contributed significantly in human resources development activities of IMD in various capacities, such as resource person, designer and conductor of various customised training. Presently she is heading the Meteorological Centre of IMD in Thiruvananthapuram.
