Dr Sindhu N

Dr Sindhu N is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at the College of Engineering, Trivandrum with 27 years of academic experience. Her research interests include emotion recognition in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease, reflecting her commitment to applying technology for improved healthcare and quality of life.

She is the Founder and Chairperson of ORMA Educational and Charitable Trust (May 2020), dedicated to promoting dignified, compassionate, and person-centred dementia care. Guided by the vision of revitalising and caring for those who once cared for us, she strives to enhance the quality of aging and preserve the dignity and individuality of people living with dementia. ORMA provides specialised memory care through a trained team, personalised activities, and supportive care programmes.

She also serves as an Executive Member of the Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society (ARDST) Thiruvananthapuram Chapter. Through her academic, research, and social initiatives, Dr Sindhu advocates for dementia awareness, family support, and compassionate care that empowers individuals to live meaningful lives with dignity and respect.
