Dr Rakhi R B

Dr Rakhi R. B. is Scientist-F and Professor, AcSIR, at the Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies (CSET), CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram. She holds an MSc in Physics from the University of Kerala and a PhD in Physics from IIT Madras, where she received the Best PhD Thesis Award. She carried out postdoctoral research at KAUST, Saudi Arabia, and has also served as a Ramanujan Fellow at CSIR-NIIST and UGC Assistant Professor at the University of Kerala. Her research focuses on functional nanomaterials and nanocomposites for energy storage, electrocatalysis, and electrochemical sensing. She has published over 120 research articles, with more than 10,000 citations and an h-index of 48. She is a recipient of the Ramanujan Fellowship, International SABIC Postdoctoral Fellowship, MRSI Medal (2024), Woman Achiever in Science Award (2025), and SMC Silver Medal (2026). She has also been featured in the CSIR Women Achievers in STEM compendium and has been included in the Stanford/Elsevier list of the world’s top 2% scientists since 2020.
