Dr Kusala Rajendran

Dr Kusala Rajendran is a seismologist and Honorary Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, with over four decades of experience in earth sciences. She holds a PhD in Geological Sciences from the University of South Carolina and has worked extensively on seismotectonics, earthquakes along plate boundaries and continental regions, and fluid-induced earthquakes. She has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed papers and co-authored books including ‘Earthquakes of Indian Subcontinent’ and ‘The Rumbling Earth’. A recipient of the National Award for Women Scientists, she was also named among Asia’s top 100 scientists. She writes widely on earth, environment, climate and natural disasters.
