Dr Easwer H V

Dr HV Easwer is a Professor of Neurosurgery at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum. Trained at SCTIMST with a fellowship in Vascular Neurosurgery, his clinical expertise spans brain and spine tumours, vascular diseases, endoscopic surgery, and managing non-cancerous pain. A pioneer in organ donation, Dr Easwer serves on Kerala’s brain-death certification panel, having certified over 100 donors. His landmark legal defence of brain-death determination was commended in a 2017 High Court judgment, the same year he received the Dr Ramdas Pisharody Memorial Award. He was also honoured as Kerala’s Best Doctor in 2012.

As a researcher, Dr Easwer holds three patents for neurosurgical bone substitutes and has authored key publications on cerebral aneurysms and minimally invasive brain surgery. Beyond medicine, he serves as visiting faculty at CUSAT and RGCB, and is a published author of short stories.
