Dr E A Resmi

She is a Scientist-E and Group Head of the Atmospheric Science Group at the National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), Thiruvananthapuram. She earned her Ph.D. from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 2013, researching sudden stratospheric warming and its influence on the tropical atmosphere. She subsequently joined the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune. Her research interests include precipitation microphysics, boundary layer pollution, monsoon cloud dynamics, and thunderstorms over southern peninsular India. She uses advanced ground-based instruments to study cloud and precipitation processes. She also contributes to establishing atmospheric observatories, including the High Altitude Cloud Physics Observatory (HACPO) at Munnar, and expanding meteorological observation networks under Mission Mausam. Her work includes peer-reviewed publications, research coordination, and academic administration.
