Dr Aswathyraj is a Scientist and Operational Lead at the Molecular Diagnostics Facility, Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV), Kerala. An alumna of the inaugural batch of the Manipal Institute of Virology, MAHE, she specializes in viral threat surveillance, point-of-care diagnostics, and host-pathogen dynamics. At IAV, she manages regional diagnostic operations and technical execution for national public health initiatives, including the National One Health Program for Prevention and Control of Zoonoses. Passionate about translating advanced science into actionable community protection, Dr Aswathyraj’s work focuses on point-of-care diagnostic innovation, epidemic forecasting, and strengthening regional healthcare infrastructure. She translates complex virological concepts into clear knowledge for society, emphasizing how unified One Health strategies can prevent future health emergencies. Through her research, mentorship, and public dialogue, Dr Aswathyraj continues to advance regional diagnostic capabilities and build collaborative, sustainable defenses against developing viral threats.
