Dhanya Rajendran

Dhanya Rajendran is the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of The News Minute, a digital newsroom that reports on politics, culture, and society across South India. With over 20 years in journalism, her work spans politics, human rights, gender-based violence, and disaster coverage.

Dhanya received the Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Journalist (2022) and the Red Ink ‘Journalist of the Year’ Award (2023) from the Mumbai Press Club. She was also nominated for the RSF (Reporters Without Borders) Global Impact Award in 2025 for her work defending press freedom.
