Abida Rasheed

Abida Rasheed is a celebrity chef and the founder of AR Foods known for her deep connection with the culinary traditions of Malabar. Raised in the heart of Malabar, she developed a passion for cooking from an early age and went on to build a successful career in the textile business before returning to her roots in food and cuisine. Her work is centred on preserving and celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Malabar through traditional recipes, spices, masalas, pickles and snacks. Drawing on recipes and cooking traditions passed down through generations, she has developed a distinctive culinary identity rooted in authentic Malabari flavours and techniques. Through the production and sale of traditional masalas and other Malabari food products, Abida is bringing the distinctive flavours of Malabar to a wider audience. Her work brings together food heritage, entrepreneurship and culinary storytelling, creating new opportunities to preserve traditional recipes while making the region’s rich food culture accessible to contemporary consumers.
